Hi all,
Yes, you did read that correctly....it does say Botany Bay and we are just down the road from Ramsgate sands too which is a bit freaky!
We had a great day yesterday and went on a powerboat ride around the harbour and Manly beach. There was a swell of about 4 meters in the sea so we had just about the best conditions for getting completely airbourne. We both came off the boat completely exhausted after having held on for dear life for an hour or so and we were absolutely dripping wet but it was worth it. We both still feel shattered today because of it too!
It's hard to believe we only have 4 more days left in Australia but we are both really looking forward to the cruise on the 9th. Finding somewhere to stay in our 'Hippie Camper' is proving a lot more difficult now as all the decent camp sites are very full. In fact, Laura is on the machine next to me trying to find somewhere where we can stay this evening.....if not, we could be camping on Botany Bay!
We both need to do a bit of shopping before the cruise for some smart clothes too and Laura needs to buy some shoes! (She also needs a haircut too but after the last time I cut her hair with a Leatherman, she wont let me near it now!)
New Year's Eve we headed into Sydney to watch the fireworks from the bridge but it was getting soooooooooo busy that we got a taxi back just before midnight and watched the fireworks from our balcony in the hotel. The good thing was that Groove Armada were playing on the beach too so we had the best of both worlds really. Turns out they were staying in our hotel too as we soon found out when they ordered copius amounts of alcohol in the sun loungers next to us round the roof top pool the next day! Tough life isn't it?!
Well that's about all for now. We forgot to bring the camera into the internet cafe but will try to upload some phots in the next day or two (especially ones of our "Hippie Camper") Take care all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Love Jo and Laura
