After hearing how beautiful Idyllwild is from Kim's parents, we made our way there from Arizona. We were planning on camping in the RV up in Idyllwild which is nestled in the San Jacinto mountains not far from Palm Springs. It was a long day and we found ourselves over 5,000 feet up in the mountains on some of the narrowest roads we had driven on. Unfortunately, there was a freak weather pattern that was dumping snow up here and we started to see cars heading down the mountain covered in snow. After a call to the campground, which turned out to be closed due to the weather, we carefully made our way back down to the sunny and warm Palm Springs area.
We spent a few days exploring and managed to head back up to Idyllwild in the car for the day. We also took Benjamin to 'The Living Dessert' attraction in Palm Springs. He had a great time running around, although was not so impressed with the merry-go-round (carousel), as you can see from the photos!
Our next stop will be LA to visit some friends.
