Today we woke up feeling a little dusty so decided to skip the run. We checked out of the hotel and after grabbing a coffee started the drive south. The coastline is rugged and amazing, the weather constantly changing from clear blue skies to cold wet fog and back to sunshine. We stopped in Santa Cruz for lunch and took some photos of the historical boardwalk. The town felt a bit deserted and dodgy with lots of weirdos just milling around and sitting in parked cars smoking joints. Next we went to Monterey where we explored the aquarium. The best part was the sea otters they were really funny playing around and grooming themselves. After the aquarium we headed towards Monterey airport as we wanted to exchange our rental car because the steering was a bit dodgy. On our way to the airport we realized we had left our passports and accommodation and flight details in the safe at the hotel back in San Francisco so we had to drive 3 1/2 hours back to SF to get it! On the way we got a flat tyre on the freeway, hence the photo, so things were going really well at this stage. Anyway we soldiered on and stopped by the airport and swapped the car, then back to the hotel to pick up our stuff. We grabbed a pizza for dinner near AT&T ballpark before driving back down to Seacliff which is just south of Santa Cruz. What a day!
