Today we went for a little run along the foreshore before going back to the sourdough bakery for bread and butter for brekky. We then took an hour long boat tour of the bay around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate which was fun. After that we jumped on the old cable car and rode it all the way to downtown. Jamie jumped off at a red light to take a photo and got told off by the driver! We wandered around the city and did a self guided walking tour around China...

Great first day in SF, after checking in we drove over to the Golden Gate Bridge whee there is a big park area and lots of people walking dogs and hanging out. We then drove to Lombard St which is famous for being the worlds most crooked street (it winds back and forth like a snake) and the chucked our car in a long term parking lot. End of day one and boy did we eat some food food! Once we checked in we grabbed a coffee from across the road and it was surprisingly quite ok. We then went for a drive to see the golden gate and Lombard st, after which we went to fishermans wharf and had yummo clam chowder in this awesome sourdough bread bowl!

Finally made it to our hotel in San Fran. We picked up our rental car at the airport we had book a tiny fiat so we upgraded to a ford focus which is great. Still getting used to driving on the other side of the road and turning thru red lights, but we found our hotel safely. It's very quaint with old claw foot baths and tons of tiny rooms with antique furniture. Now we are just having a well deserved shower before we head out to explore and eat some clam chowd...
