We headed off from our campsite outside Ceduna relatively early this morning, making our way east on the Ayre Highway. We don't intend going too far today, probably less than 200km today. We left our campsite just west of Penong and headed first to see the Woolshed Museum a few km up the road. It gave us an insight into life in this area over the last century and beyond. We spent time talking to the volunteer on duty who told us that the road down to Cactus Beach has recently been graded so we decided to drive the 20km to see this iconic Australian surf beach. We left our Nullarbor campsite mid-morning and headed straight for the Nullarbor Roadhouse to refuel. As we did on the trip over, we took photos at the iconic yellow road sign saying to watch out for camels, wombats and kangaroos for the next 88km. We also checked out the original Nullarbor Roadhouse building, with its historic fuel pumps and ancient cash register. Well, we made it across the border and back in to South Australia today. We left our Mundrabilla campsite late morning as usual and headed straight to the roadhouse at Eucla to top up fuel. In our opinion Eucla is the nicest of the roadhouses on the Nullarbor, perhaps a little more modern than the others. Woke up freezing this morning, forgetting how cold nights can get on the Nullarbor. Tonight we will put our carpets down for added warmth on the floor and make sure we wear thermals to bed. We set off late (as usual), in no particular hurry, and stopped at the nearby Caiguna Blowhole to have a look. It wasn't blowing, however we did read the sign about how the blowholes were formed.
