The day dawned windy and cool, quite a change after yesterday's warm weather. We both slept in this morning and then packed up to head into the nearby town of Iron k*** to check out the iron ore mine. This town is known as the birthplace of steel in this country, with BHP setting up the mine to take advantage of the high quality lead it was producing (over 60% pure) and it became known for producing the highest grade iron ore in the world. We left our lovely spot under the wave-like Pildappa Rock, half way between the tiny town of Minnipa and the Gawler Ranges. Decided to stay another night here in this wonderful free camp at Pildappa Rock provided by the town of Minnipa. After waking up way too early I managed to fall asleep again and ended up sleeping late, which was nice, given we weren't in a rush to go anywhere.
