Away We Go
10.00 a.m., next day
We should have arrived two hours ago... some minutes ago, a train employee came through to announce very matter of factly: 'Chian Mai - two hours.'
Ok then. Just happy we didn't have our bunks built back into seats yet. Nothing wrong with a little nap on your average 18-hour-train ride, after a most horrible breakfast.
Only plus: The toilets are Western style and still surprisingly clean.
Man muss die Feste feiern, wie sie fallen... oder so.

Anna I just want to remind you, that I came to Kopenhagen by train. I had no sleeping compartment and it took me about 15 hours. Not to talk about the awful smell .... Your journey sounds more comfortable although you are in Thailand
sandra the entire train trip sounds just amazing!!! don't worry about your breakfast, ...you'll see, they have delicious food in Chian Mai :)
Karin Another picture of Morten sleeping! Bjorn is now getting very interested in having a trip like yours too...
Lydia Chiang Mai;-) Lovely! We stayed the 'Chiang Mai White House', which is owned by a Swiss guy. It was very cozy, quiet and save there. In the same street is a cooking school, where you can book some cooking classes;-) By the way from Chiang Mai we traveled to 'PAI'... absolutely worth the way!
