Our 'fancy' room in Padangbai came with all extras included - breakfast, free wifi, hot water, outdoor shower... and at least two supersized cockroaches (roach no. 1 has been capured under this very practical indonesian plastic bowl by sonja, no. 2 got caught bh morten with our second bowl minutes later... let's just say those babies need a good wash before we eat our next bakso soup out of them!)

After arriving in Padangbai after a hot car ride, finding a nice room after an even hotter walk with our backpacks and checking in, we're having bali kopi (balinese black coffee, always getting me close to a heart attack!) in this surprisingly stylish café. Tomorrow we'll go snorkling and find a diving school. Today... hanging and maybe a lazy walk to the beach is enough!

On our last evening in Ubud, we enjoyed the sunset view over the rice fields together with a delicious chicken satay, a portion of equally delicious nadi campur, a big cold bintang beer... and another bintang! no wonder morten looks so satisfied :)

It has been pouring down hektoliters all night and this morning as well, and we got a bit worried sliding to yoga class in slippery flip flops and rain jackets... is the weather turning on us? But after a yoga class on an open second floor with the sound of raindrops on the roof above us, tje sky cleared up and we are enjoying clear view over the rice paddies again - alongside with a fresh papaya juice!

... with the sweltering heat, constant traffic- and haggler noise and smells of gasoline and incense everywhere... not so bad when you have a lush garden and a pool in front of your door to come home to. So who cares about the muriads of mosquitos in the room and the bathroom that hasnt been cleaned for weeks? You win some, you lose some :) Overall we can't complain!
