Away We Go
For two days we've been hanging on Gili Air, recuperating from all the hard diving class work :)
It's pretty basic here, with flocks of chicken and skinny cows sharing the dirt roads with us, but the food in the local warang is yummie and the snorkeling is amazing! We went out for an hour yesterday and immediately saw the first giant turtle, just mucking about. And of course hundreds of colourful fish everywhere on the reef - quite the spectacle, really!
We'll hang on the Gilis for some more days and then take a boat to Lombok to flee the heat and get to the foothills of a volcano. That will be quite the change from the beach life we got used to by now!

Karin Chickens, cows and turtles, what more you can wish for... Sounds great guys! Enjoy! (Morten, yesterday I completed half the marathon... it was NOT as easy as you promised it would be...!!)
Anna Did you also went out for fishing? Johannes fished a giant pike with 109 cm yesterday. He told me that in Thailand they brought there fish to a restaurant to cook it for them....foggy greetings from the cold germany
Chrissy I love the Gilis. I remember our bamboo hut and being eaten by mosquitos while having the sea lull you to sleep. Looks like you guys are having a blast. In case you'll be in Melbourne early December, let me know. I'm going to be there for a week!
