Sorry for not blogging so long!
But either internet connections have been dodgy or non-existent, or I was simply too lazy (crazy how quickly you get used to NOT writing anything at all!) to type it up. So now I have lots of days to catch up on!
This pic was taken when we were taking a walk along a small river/ canal in the foothills of the stunning volcano Rinjani on Lombok. We didn't climb it (I chickened out of the hard 3day climb, which turned out to be the right decision when we did a much smaller climb on another vulcano - I am badly out of shape!), but some treks to the neighbouring villages and a couple of waterfalls kept us busy.
We encountered the two girls (and numerous other people who were not AS keen on having their picture taken) bathing themselves and doing laundry when we walked to their village to witness a muslim holiday when the villages goat was slaughtered, butchered and distributed amongst the poorer families.
The girls saw us coming (and they really don't get many Westerners up there!) and shouted 'photo! photo!' - so of course I had to take one while they posed happily!
We also got some good sleep up there in the lower mountains, as the air was fresh and cool at night. And - thanks to the German owners - it must be the only place in Lombok where you can get original Käsespätzle ... weird! I still preferred the jackfruit curry though :)

Anna Please take some pictures of Jackfruits and a Jackfruit-Trees. How is the cheese for the käsespätzle? Can`t believe they have Allgäuer Emmentaler, do they? Anselm just stopped eating Cheese because he found out that it is made out of rennet.
