Arrived at Manchester on Monday, after a bit of hibernating & not doing much. The train ride was great. A nice sunny day & lots to see along the way. Felt good to be traveling again, getting some independence & making it by myself. I like traveling alone in a lot of ways. I don't have to worry about anyone else, I can be in my own little world. Every trip is an achievement that I made happen. Navigating bus & train stations, connecting lines, hauling all my luggage & arriving safely. I'm getting better at finding my way around. We went out Monday night in Manchester city to have a few drinks, maybe a few too many. But it was great to relax & be myself a little more with people more like me. So far liking Manchester. Can't wait to go explore a bit, maybe not today its raining. Which it has been a lot. Don't know how these people cope with winter year after year. At this stage I can safely say I'm an Aussie through & through, can't wait to enjoy the sunshine again, go to the beach, drink a cold beer, wear flip flops down the street. So many little pleasures I'll enjoy so much more when I'm home again. Although this trip has opened my eyes, given me experiences & emotions I've never had before, it's Australia I will always call home. I feel so lucky to be one & proud every time someone asks 'where you from?'. Looking at jobs, but due to Christmas being so soon I probably won't start until afterwards. Or else I might get stuck somewhere with no one I know working. A few weeks away still so I'll see how it goes. Not looking forward to it snowing, but a white Christmas would be different. Well me, the little sponge soaking up all this experience is off. If you are reading this & it's sunny outside, do me a favour. Go enjoy a few minutes outside in it for me!!
