Such a brief stay in Buenos Aires... Today we headed off on a city tour in the morning before enjoying an afternoon wandering the shops and visiting the famous city cemetery. It's like nothing you've seen before. All family mausoleums are in there and they are amazing - marble, stone and many with stained glass windows... Well we got here after another 4am pickup and a very odd flight from La Paz to Santa Cruz to Buenos Aires we arrived with magnificent sunshine and 24 degrees. I planned a little surprise for Matt thanks to Trip Advisor we had an Argentinian Tango lesson here with a lovely guy called Alejandro. The lesson brought Matt back to a basic level but we learned heaps from himself I think it will help us a heap! From there we had an excellent meal with free Spanish tutori...

Today was all about La Paz... We started our tour at 9am and saw sights around the city. We also bumped into a peaceful protest and visited the valley of the moon. I think one of our highlights is watching the street zebras... They are city employees who help stop cars and assist pedestrians across busy intersections. They do it with tremendous spirit and are really fun to watch. La Paz is a lovely city and worth another look some day.

So we have arrived in La Paz at 8pm so there is little point talking about it but we did spend the morning walking around another section of Sun Island on Lake Titikaka. Part of the island is covered with Eucalyptus trees that the government planted to give locals a sustainable wood supply but not all of them took due to the poor soil but in parts there are beautiful gum trees. After our morning walk and look in the museum we cruised for two hours towards La Paz ...

So after a very, very long bus ride from Cusco to Puno, we have now moved from Puno in Peru to a catamaran on Lake Titikaka on the Bolivian side. The Inca heritage is strong here. They are less Catholic than other South American countries but still take massive parts of Catholicism and blend it in with other bits and bobs. Like when you buy a car, new or second hand, you must dress it up with flowers and decorations and get it blessed but a catholic priest outsid...
