If you have ever had the misfortune of driving through the Plains of Kansas, then you have a pretty good idea of what I have been walking through for the past five days. Save for two beautiful cathedrals at both ends of the journey, the area between Burgos and Leon is not ever going to make it on the front of any postcards for Spanish tourism.
Today was a rest day which includes coffee, internet, beer, beer, nap, beer, food, nap, wine, food, and sleep by ten o'clock at the very, very latest. My timing for the rest day was right though. If you recall, I made it snow in Jerusalem when I went to the Bible Museum. Well my trip to the prayer service led by 15 nuns, none of whom were a day younger than 70, made it rain all day today. Even though I am staying at the same place tonight, I think that I will skip prayer service tonight so we will have good weather in the morning. The links that I will go to for the good of others!
I have another 12 days or so more to go before I reach Santiago. After that, I will search out the nearest shops for pedicures because my feet are an absolute wreck and sadly, my feet are in better shape than most.Â
Enjoy work today and keep the notes coming,
Jason
