Day Forty One - February 15
The 14th of February (Valentine's Day) was spent at sea. While at our art class, the cabin steward cleaned our room and placed a card with balloons on our bed. It was a lovely touch. Janice also "bought" me dinner in the specialty steak restaurant Polo. It was also free cocktails on the captain so another free booze day.
The trip from San Diego covered approximately 1,000 nauctical miles thus the reason for the early departure from San Diego.
Cabo San Lucas also called Cabo is the most southernly point on the Baja peninsula and is our first destination in Mexico. It is the second largest community after La Paz.
Our ship arrived at 12:00 noon with the last tender at 19:30 and we departed at 20:00. This is the last port where we need to tender on this segment which ends in Barbados.
We took the ship tour-"The Art District of San Jose del Cabo". It was a four hour tour taking in several art galleries in the city as well as a visit to the San Jose del Cabo Mission Church. Free time was allotted for us to walk around the square and Janice and I took the opportunity to do some sketching.
Our final stop was to Casa Cuervo for a taco lunch and tequila tasting. Both Janice and I had two shots of different types of tequila and this was a first for me. It wasn't that bad although I enjoyed my pepsi chaser.
Returning to Cabo, Janice and I walked the boardwalk before returning to the tender pier.
