Back in Salvador. After a 4 hour sail of only 15 NM we arrived in Salvador to provision the boat and check out of the Bahia region. It is time for Atlantis to continue her journey to the North. Eileen, a very experienced ocean racer, accepted to join me as crew. We formed already a team when we sailed from Cape Agulhas to Simons town in South Africa. Some facts; Atlantis sailed 4.752 NM or 8.800 KM since she left Richards Bay in South Africa. She was involved in 2 mayday situations; 1) Struisbaai (Cape Agulhas) when she lost her anchor in a storm. 2) In Houtbay (South Africa), when she sailed into illegal crayfish nets more than 3 NM from the coast. In both cases the South African NSRI did a wonderful job. Marc
