Hello again,
After getting a train to Bangkok, we had lunch in the station and was then directed to a bus stop that would take us to Kao San Rd (where we stayed last time) for 7 baht! Uber cheap! We got dropped off a while away from the Rd so went to a tourist office to get a map, and as we were worried about accomodation being expensive we told them we were going to Kao San Rd, which we had been told was the cheapest place. They laughed and redirected us to a lovely, cheap, clean and friendly guesthouse just down the road, which is cheaper than most other places we've seen on a travels so far, and it has a rooftop terrace! Ideal. (The secret working perfectly there as Hayley had already 'cosmically' ordered that guesthouse outside of Kao San Rd for a cheap price! Ta da!)
We also arrived just in time as the weather turned into gale force winds and black clouds swept over and drenched Bangkok. It felt like home! The next day was beautiful though so we sat on the roof and read our books and sunbathed. Dan is a little pink now...oops he'll be lovely and brown after tho!
And the best part of all of coming to Bangkok was that night what did i find in the 2nd book shop we went into, sitting there all pretty with its golden pages???? The Secret. Hoorah. Read it. loved it. Living it. Trying to get dan to read it. As well as using it to better my life i'm gonna try and use it to get bigger boobs and a nicer bum too (it says you can so why not?!) is that vain....Anyway thank you so much Sharon for bringing it in to my life. xxxx
We have also sent those elephant pictures back now Dans' mummy, so look out for those in 4 to 6 weeks. in the evening we had a few beers and decided we wanted proper indian curry, not the runny soup version the thais make so we had an amaxing meal in an indian restaurant on Kao San Rd. Glad we stuck to korma and tikka masala coz they were hot enough!!! and all in all the meal came to around 4 pounds with drinks included. marvelous!
We went home will full stomachs, slightly drunk and waddling from the sun burn, and were asleep for 9pm lol. All in all that was a very good day.
Today (thursday) we have just been to the local supermarket to buy supllies for Borneo i.e. lots of toilet roll, insect repellent (with 95% deet - isnt that dangerously strong?..hmm might be diluting that, then it can last the rest of the trip..), mosquito coils etc. We are so excited! Hayley can hardly contain herself, we will be in Borneo, the place of our wildest dreams, in 2 days time! We are all packed ready for our flight to Jakarta tomorrow. We leave the guest house at 5am, we've booked a taxi to take us to the airport, where we fly to Kuala Lumpur in the morning and to Jakarta in the afternoon. Apparently we have to stay in Jakarta for 2 nights as the guy organising the hostel and flight bookings for us over there only decided to get back to us 2 days ago, but i made sure we would get an extra day on the end of our trip there as i'm not losing out on time with the monkeys! hell no. We wont have too many photos of Borneo as we only have one battery which doesnt last very long and there is no electricity there so we try and capture the best moments for you!
Wish us luck! will probably check messages half way through the two weeks and let you know we are alive if we can get to town and to an internet cafe, but we weill tell you all about it when we fly out to Bali for sun and beaches and luxury with no bugs!
OH MY GOD WE ARE GOING TO BORNEO IN 2 DAYS!!!!!!!!! Av it!
