Once again the morning was cold one degree on the water and a slight breeze. However we were told that the air over the water is always 5 degrees colder that the land temperature so it really was minus 4. So we dressed accordingly.undershirt, shirt, fleece, and wind jacket. As well the operator gave us a lifejacket which gave us an extra layer. But the morning was sunny and so we felt quite warm during our float trip down the Snake River. The river was running at 5mph as the spring thaw had not as yet added to river flows. After ashort briefing on what to do if we fell ut of he raft (as if we had any intention of getting into icy water) we had a lovely trip down a ten mile stretch of the river with clear views of the Grand Tetons. Greg or guide regaled us with stories from the early pioneer days to present. After a short break we set off for Yellowstone National Park our ultimate target at which we arrived in time to witness the 5.01 pm blow of the geyser known as Old Fatihfull. Apparently it gushes 37 metres. Naturally we stayed at the Historic Old Faithfull Lodge. It might have been historical but it had draw backs like no hot water until the heating system came on about 7pm.
