We had arranged for the hotel to provide a car and driver to transfer us to Inle Lake View Hotel this morning and all went well until we reached the town at the lake and the driver informed us that that was as far as he went and we had to get a boat across the lake to the hotel. As you can imagine, we were not too pleased and a long and confused telephone conversation ensued between driver, hotel manager, Madam and helpful passer-by. Manager artfully proposed that it was a problem of his reception staff and that he was "only the General Manager". I will leave you to imagine the response from Madam. Anyway, all was happily resolved and we were on our remaining way with the helpful passer-by's assistant as navigator to show the driver the way. In the afternoon we rested as, apart from the boat trip on the lake there is not much else to do (except to see some more pagodas of course).
