Left the hotel at 8:00 am sharp as we had a long return drive to Wangdi on our way back westwards. We had a few breaks along the way to stretch our legs and have lunch. We got to our hotel at 6:00 pm.

Off at 8:00 today with a drive up to Dochula pass at 3,140 m. Had a good view of Simtokha Dzong built in 1629, reputedly the oldest Dzong in Bhutan, on our way out of Thimpu. Dochu La has a large array of prayer flags and an impressive new collection of 108 chortens. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy to see the Bhutan Himalayas from the top.
