During the last night in Cairns, Charlene has a spooky incident when she woke up to see a stranger fumbling around the dorm, dressed in the building gear. Charlene initially thought the stranger was Ashley so she screeched at him and tried to get his attention only to be greeted with a bemused look which by then the penny dropped for very embarrassed Charlene!
Since our hostel were just 10 minutes away from the airport, we had a quite bit of time on our hands so we went to few tourist shops for few last minutes purchases...Readers, take comfort in the fact we at least got you all the cheapest and tackiest possible gifts!
We went back to our hostel for our free airport shuttle bus. Free being the keyword for us the skint travellers! When the shuttle bus arrived, we all clambered inside and were whisked off to the airport.
Our stay in Cairns Domestic Airport and the flight to Melbourne passed without any drama to write about apart from the fact there were loads of subtitled movies available to my glee.
We arrived in Melbourne at night and in rain once again as Mother Nature played against us as usual. We had to wait for half hour for our free shuttle bus. Eventually we were off to our hostel stationed in St Kilda which is a real foodie and party destination. We drove over the city on the route and we saw loads of dazzling lights and the early impression according to the girls is that it is similar to New York though not as overcrowded.
We arrived at our hostel and it is easily one of the best hostels we had stayed at, it had a popular bar with loads of cheap drinks and special offers for both food and drinks. The bedrooms were good and we got our private en-suite bathroom (The excitement were quickly eradicated when we realised the size of the queue for the bathroom in the morning by eight occupants) the kitchen were even clean for a change with a Sky TV.
We gained a stalker called Craig, a 37 years old man which is besotted with Sara and kept on talking with us with the main subject being Sara's beauty. He also scolded us for going out with shorts (It were hot in Cairns). Ironically, during our conversation with him, he was on a computer and we could see he was on a dating site. Yeah, you all can see why he is still single (!) We escaped from him and had a meal at predictably Nandos because it is cheaper than most of restaurants before going back to collect more information and plan our days ahead.

Judy So Ash although the bright lights of Melbourne were alluring, you had creepy Craig to contend with? Every city has it's fair share of weirdos..I trust you have distanced yourself and he is not following you guys around and can I safely assume that you have bought me a tacky ashtray or a tea towel per chance, with "I love Melbourne" written on it? Lol.
