We woke up today and we were tempted to try out hotel facilities which present me bit of a dilemma- Man up and go out to see more sights like a true traveller or stay in for a bit and pamper myself as I would in England, I opted for latter with the reasoning that in Australia I would rough it up ( A prediction which came true!)
We went to the local post office and posted our gifts; the workers there were very helpful and guided us on the Hong Kong as well international postal system. We decided to use the sea method because it is cheaper and it could arrive at the same time when we arrive back in UK.
We hit the gym and afterwards we chilled out in whirlpool which was heavenly after the hard travelling we had past couple of days, I confess to a bout of immature boyish behaviour when the boys had a go at water bombing into the whirlpool!
We then tried out sauna which was too hot because a gym fanatic were already there and were turning up temperature a lot. We fled to steam room before showering where I discover my psychic gift which will be revealed when I am back in UK....
We also saw a gymnasium when we were checking out squash courts and we saw the children practising basketball which is popular sport in Hong Kong thanks to a basketball superstar currently playing in USA and the girls were practising gymnastics. It reminded me of my care-free school days especially the slightly sweaty rubber smell of the sport hall!
We went to Victoria's Peak which is basically a town and neighbourhood built at very top of a mountain. It were built by a Scottish man when rich people from UK wanted somewhere to settle in Hong Kong. We reached there by a tram ride which was so steep we were literally viewing the passing buildings at 45 degrees angle!
The tram ride was great fun and we reached our destination and started to climb towards to the top of the tower in the middle of the neighbourhood. On the route there were malls and a Madame Tussad exhibition! We didn't go there because it is too gimmicky but we enjoyed a photo with one of its exhibit Bruce Lee. We reached the top at night-time and as we eagerly await the view before us....but we could not see anything because the top of the tower were covered in fog!
We got over our disappointment quickly and enjoyed the uniqueness of being in the fog. We could see dews forming on our clothes and we made our way back downwards, checking out malls enroute and we can't find anything to eat because all of the prices were pushed up due it being a tourist hotspot. We went back to the same restaurant we had on our first day because we liked the food a lot.
We went to the bed excited because it is the last night before we go to Australia.
