Today, we decided that we can fit in Npong Ping which resides on Lantau Island and it is also home of the giant Buddha statue before we depart Hong Kong. It is also the island next to Airport Island which is even more convenient for us.
We headed there with our backpacks which we quickly ditched in the lockers and purchased the tickets for the cable car which will take us to Lantau Island. We scrambled in the cable car and start our ascend thankfully no-one in our group were scared of heights because we reached dizzyingly heights and on our right, we could see airplanes taking off and on our left, we can see the coastal ridges along the three islands ( Airport, Hong Kong and Lantau) We also enjoyed a beer that were given to us by two Canadian girls from the previous night.
We arrived and we were immediately treated to an excellent Shaolin Monks display which also part of their training. The training involves balancing on the wooden poles of various heights. They even carry two water buckets at the arm's length while crossing them. There were hardly any spillage and they had six packs that will make James go green with the envy!
We made our way through the island which had few interesting displays such as cable cars from other countries and a signpost with the directions and distance to the famous landmarks such as Big Ben.
We wanted to continue our venture to the giant Buddha but we had to go back because we need to catch a flight to Australia. We arrived at the airport and checked in the time. They constificated a Piz Burn sun cream and a water bottle which I wasn't too happy about and eventually we boarded the flight which were much better than BA airline with more subtitled movies and comfortable seats that I finally broke my duck of being unable to sleep in a plane and fell asleep exhausted from my first leg of the journey in China.
