We started our Kiwi Experience bright and early at 8.30am this morning, and we got on the bus to find Linette and Lisbeth, our danish friends from Oz!! So we set off and made a stop at the kiwi office to get our tickets, before heading up Mount Eden for views over the whole of Auckland!! We drove for quite a few hours, and then stopped in a little town called Thames, in the Corromandel Peninsula, for lunch (we found a bakery so we were quite happy!!) That evening we reached Mercury Bay, a tiny little town on the Bay of Plenty, and we stayed in a very nice little hostel - and it had REAL matresses!!! There was a cat who lived there called Horse (check out the pics!) and so he hung out with us for the night!! We had a huge plate of spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread, that the hostel owners cooked us, and it only cost $6! After that we were feeling pretty full up so we chilled out on the sofas (with Horse) and watched Freaky Friday :)
