Slept in this morning and went up to the roof for a swim. We then went out and bought ourselves a jaffel and a Nutella crepe (so good!). We didn't have a particularly hectic day planned but we hopped on a tuk tuk headed to the Chao Phraya River to get a small river boat with an old bus motor on the back. On the tuk tuk ride he agreed to a very low fare only if we stopped at a at a tailor along the way an have a look. I swear to god this whole country is in cahoots to get me to buy counter fit goods or a tailored suit.
The weather was steamy so it was nice to get out on the water were it was slightly cooler. The guy took us around some of the canals and we got to see the way alot of Thai people lived along the river. The water was teeming with these giant ugly looking grey fish and we threw a handful of bread into the water and so many fish came up it was like you couldn't even see the water.
After the boat ride we headed back to the hotel to get out of the heat for a bit and have another swim. We went to the local mall (which is like Westfield on steroids) and had some Taiwanese bubble tea.
In the evening we took a cab out to try and find China Town to find dinner (and also to try and spot some locations from The Hangover 2). We found some of the town but weren't that excited by it and weren't really into the chinese food (and it started bucketing down - Rainy season!) so we hopped on the metro back to the hotel to get some dinner.
We met a friend of Shaun's from a Marriott in Australia and had a nice long chat before we went for a bit more of a wander around the town.
We are about to go to sleep now but as I look outside the hotel room window it looks like most of the city is blacked out (we still have power but no TV signal). Kinda spooky!
