Slept in this morning and went up to the roof for a swim. We then went out and bought ourselves a jaffel and a Nutella crepe (so good!). We didn't have a particularly hectic day planned but we hopped on a tuk tuk headed to the Chao Phraya River to get a small river boat with an old bus motor on the back. On the tuk tuk ride he agreed to a very low fare only if we stopped at a at a tailor along the way an have a look. I swear to god this whole country is in cahoot...

The train arrived about an hour and a half late into Bangkok. We checked into our hotel and were given complementary drinks at the hotel's lounge because We knew the duty manager (long story - Shaun knows her from Marriott Australia). We slept in until the mid morning and missed breakfast (which was ok because the buffet was nothing to write home about). Today we woke up early to head to the Elephant Nature Park (the reason why we came to Chiangmai). We were picked up by Mi who was one of the people who worked at the nature park. It took just over an hour to get to the park and during that time we watched a video about the park, what it does, purpose etc. Mi gave us a few tips and rules we should follow whilst at the park particularly mentioning Hope, one of the young male elephants in the park who is naughty and...

Today we ate some breakfast, checked out of the hotel and went to the Bangkok flower market along the main river in Bangkok. After having a look around there we got on a tuk tuk and followed the river for about 10 minutes. We then got in a taxi and headed back to the hotel.
