We slept in until the mid morning and missed breakfast (which was ok because the buffet was nothing to write home about). Not sure of how to spend the morning we wandered about the town a bit more and watched the locals go about their business. If you make eye contact with almost anyone though, no matter how far away they were, they would run up to us to sell us something or offer us a tuk tuk ride somewhere.
After a little while we decided to go and get a Thai massage. Neither of us knew what to expect and were just praying that they understood the kind of massage we were after (the non-explicit kind). They washed our feet and then let us change into a huge set of pajamas which was fun.
They lead us to the massage room. There was a lot of kneading, stretching, and pulling and to be honest was a little uncomfortable at times but at the end of the hour we both felt nice and relaxed. And for the equivalent of about $5 each for the hour it was a bargain.
It was then time for us to check out of the hotel. The woman who managed the hotel was very grumpy (maybe sad to see us go).
We then had to make our way to the train station for our sleeper train ride back to Bangkok. We decided to upgrade our tickets to first class on the train ride - which cost an extra $20 so we could get a private cabin were we could turn off the light to get a better sleep and not worry about our bas while we slept.
The stewardess of our carriage was this really nice lady who seamed quite interested in our lives and selling us lots of Chang (the local beer). We ordered dinner (same as on the way there because it was pretty yummy then) and watched a couple of movies as the Thai country side shot past us and the sun set over the hills on the outskirts of Chiangmai.
Not a particularly busy day but nice none the less :)

Brigitte Well now you guys. if you don't want to be bowled over by the locals selling you stuff, then, maybe you should stop looking like tourists (rich) and dress more like them. They must think tourists are stressed because, why the constant offer for a massage?? You guys sound like you've got the right Aussie idea, 'av a go!' I must say you were pretty brave to let fish nibble your feet. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving the updates and hearing about what you are doing (or not doing, lazying around). Would love to hear more about the different food you've attempted to eat.
