Day 35 -

Today we left for Ko Phangnan. Our boat was at 3pm so we didn't do anything in the morning apart from get ripped off by Crystal Diving School the scummy scum bags!

We waited on the pier for our boat to come and my god what a journey that ended up being! It was the worse ever boat journey and I was sick BIGTIME!

Anyway, we got to Ko Phangnan eventually and got our bible out (the Lonely Planet) but we were being mauled by loads of Thai women who were trying to get us to go to one of their hotels so becuase I just wanted to lie down and sleep off the sickly feeling I had we just went with one of the women who was taking us to a hotel on Mae Haad Beach and it was the BEST move we had ever made!

When we reached the hotel it was like walking through the pearly gates and taking you first step into heaven - ok it wasn't thaaaat good but from what we were used to it was rather grand!

Our room overlooked a desolate yet inviting white sandy beach with crystal clear waters and palm trees with hammocks - just like you see on the adverts! And lets not forget the room! Eating area, air con, TV, fridge, huge glass patio doors, tiled bathroom with power shower and above all it was clean, clean, clean! You could have eaten your dinner off the floor (although we didn't). Plus the hotel had a huge swimming pool, one of those ones that looks like the water is falling over the edge of a cliff. But what made this even better is that is only cost us GBP10.00 per night!

After we'd settled in our room we went for a dip in the pool then showered and strolled along the beach until we found a restaurant where we had a few drinks and lovely meal right by the sea. Very romantic! A nice finish to a long day!

Day 36 -

Today we went snorkeling. We got up mid-morning, had breakfast and headed to the beach.

Although we didn't seen any marine life at all we had loads of fun snorkeling and went out really far until I cacked it and had to come back in a bit! I wish I had never seen Jaws or knew that jelly fish stung because then I think I would be a lot braver!

We spent the rest of the day in the pool and then at night, we went further along the beach to a restaurant which was serving fresh fish from the barbeque. This was one of the nicest meals we've had so far. You got to choose whichever fish you wanted from the display then they cooked it for you on the BBQ while you sit on a candlelit table on the sand and the sea is under your feet. It was a Bob Marley night so we had him playing in the background (obviously not the real one) whilst we ate, lovely!

Day 37 -

The only downfall to our hotel is that it was in the middle of nowhere so there weren't any shops around for miles. We wanted to get some supplies so we were constantly eating out as it was getting expensive. We checked the map out and there was a Tesco's (I know a TESCO'S oh god I AM in heaven!) on the south of the island which would take about 30 minutes by taxi.

All the taxis on the island are just pick up trucks where you sit in the open topped back and obviously have to climb up them to get in. We ordered our taxi and when it came we realised that we were sharing it with another group of people. they got in first, then me, then Anth.

Now Anthony, getting down with the backpackers vibe, has been going commando since we started traveling and by God did this backfire on him today...

After we were all in the truck and had sat down (Anth sitting opposite from me) Anthony goes "Kay look" and sort of discretely points his index finger towards his Nether-regions and I say rather astonishingly "Your balls are hanging out" and as if I have just stated the obvious Anth replies rather acutely "I f***ing know they're hanging out Kay! When I clambered into the truck, the seam on my shorts caught the edge of it and teared them in two, didn't it!"

WELL! Jesus Christ that was me then I COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING even if someone had paid me I couldn't have stopped I mean EVERYTHING was hanging out - the shorts now looked like a skirt but worse because the seams were ripped up the sides as well. HA HA HA Anthony's face, what a picture! You know when you are laughing so much and someone tells you to shut up and when you try you end up grunting through you nose, well that was me! I don't think the other group or I hope the other group didn't know what we were laughing at or Anth could have been arrested for indecent exposure, they must have thought I was a complete loon!

Funnily enough Anth didn't find it as amusing as me especially when I started singing "do your balls hang low do they wobble to and fro!" That journey lasted about 30 minutes and it was the funniest journey ever (well for me anyway). Anth kept trying to change the subject whilst we were driving "the views lovely isn't it?" and I was like (through a fit of hysterics) "don't you try talking to seriously to me with those things swinging around like nobodies business!"

Then to top it off, getting off the truck was just as funny. Anth had to get out first, the other group must have thought he'd shat himself because he sort of had to shuffle on his bum along the bottom of the truck and do a little hop off the edge whilst holding his shorts together in the groin area.

God I laughed all the way to the nearest clothes shop whilst Anth shuffled along in front of me still holding onto his shorts for dear life and whilst I tried to reassure him that you honestly couldn't tell he was walking funny.

ANYWAY....

We found Tesco's after Anth had changed, got a load of sandwich material (Anth bought a sewing kit) then headed back to the hotel, swam in the pool and sunbathed all afternoon.

Day 38

Whilst most of you were getting ready for Halloween at home, Anth and I were sunbathing and swimming on the beach. Today we literally had the whole beach to ourselves. Apart from lounge around we really didn't do much else. I got another Thai massage and a pedicure and that's about as exciting as it got!

Tomorrow we meet Fay, Steph and Megan for the Full Moon Party......
