Day 64 -
Leave Ko Chang today after seeing too much of it - yeah right! We are heading back to Bangkok to enjoy 3 more days of the city.
As soon as we get back to our hotel we drop our stuff off and head to the Emporium Cinema because tonight we are going to watch New Moon, can't wait!!
We got to the cinema early so that we could have a look around the shopping complex and get something to eat which turned out to be a Burger King, yummy!
New Moon turned out to be not as good as we'd hoped for but it was still ace. At the beginning of the film everyone at the cinema had to stand and pledge their allegiance to the King of Thailand which felt like an odd thing to do just before watching a film!
By the time the film had ended it was about midnight so we just went to the hotel and to bed. Crazy aren't we?!
Day 65 -
We had 2 full days ahead of us in Bangkok which actually turned out to be too long because we had seen most of the city on our previous visits.
To fill time, today we went to a different shopping complex this time the biggest one in SE Asia know as CentraWorld. It actually turned out to be rubbish so we headed to another cinema to watch 2012. Which may I add is the WORST film I have ever seen before in my life, crap from start to finish - DO NOT WATCH IT!!
At night I persuaded Anth to wax my well-ready-to-be-waxed legs which turned out to be really funny (I think Anth liked causing my as much pain as possible) and my legs turned out to be pretty smooth too! Anth really has a knack for it - maybe a career move in the future? I haven't had one in growing hair since!
We also had a few drinks in the hotel room and played word games ha! Bonkers!!
Day 66 -
Our last day in Bangkok for the foreseeable future so today we are going to try and see some more of the city. We are going to skip the floating market even though everybody goes to see that instead we are going to head to Chinatown.
We snoozed way past our alarm in the morning so didn't get to Chinatown until about 2pm! Bad move as the place was in absolute carnage by this time. EXTREMELY busy and not much to see. In fact the only thing that we could see was the polluted air that was visible to the eye from all of the car and motorbike fumes!
After sending about 2 hours in the sweltering, eye stinging heat and hustle and bustle of Chinatown we headed off to the city centre to get something to eat - our initial plan had been to get something Chinese (any meat in black bean sauce to be precise) but although there were a few restaurants in Chinatown they were all quite expensive.
Tonight we have planned to go out and have a few drinks as we won't be seeing Bangkok again, on these travels anyway!
First bar is the Rooftop Bar on the Khao San Road; first drink is a bucket of vodka and coke! This bar plays live music too - in English!!
We had such a good night! The buckets went down well and the music was really good it wasn't before long that we were up there singing along with the Thai lad!
When we had moved to another bar we ordered a vodka bucket again but Anth wanted to make sure that they were the same size as the last place so asked the waitress "how big are ya buckets love?" Ha could be looked upon as being a little discourteous but the waitress couldn't speak English anyway so wasn't offended!
We ended up on the next road outside a bar where a lad was singing live and playing the guitar and he was really good! Playing Oasis, Eric Clapton, The Eagles just our thing! We ended up tipping him and he loved us because we were the only ones who were cheering him on!
In all honesty neither of us felt too drunk when we left the bar and walked to the hotel but once we got there, ROOM SPIN!! Argh I hate it!! I hate even more that Anth can just sleep through it. I on the other hand had my head down the toilet for a good hour reminding myself of what I had eaten that day. Anyhow a good end to a good night!!
Pick up tomorrow is at 7am. When I checked the time between the toilet and the bed it was 3:30am - 3 hours until the alarm sounds. Get. In. There...
