Our alarms went off at 5.30 after under 4 hours sleep! Which makes 6 hours in two days! Perfect! We hired a driver for the day and he picked us up at 6.30! It cost 400000 Rupiah (£25) to have him drive us around for 10 hours. Didn't catch his name so let's just call him norbert, a lot of them have names like this anyway! He didn't speak a word of English.
Arrived at Borobudur Temple at about 8.30 and had breakfast. It is the biggest Buddhist temple in Indonesia!
It cost Andi and Alex 30000 Rupiah (£2) each as they are locals but it cost me and Michael 190000 Rupiah (£13) each! Seriously expensive to see these bricks! They were worth it though!
Andi loves taking loads of photos so he took hundreds! It was like a photo shoot all day!
You have to do the temple from East to West, no idea why it's just a must apparently! There are about 5 different levels and it's a rectangle structure! So you spiral up to the top!
Even though it was early it was still packed with tourists! Taking pictures of pointless bricks, complaining that it's hot (hello your in Asia) and walking to pace of a snail all the way around! I don't have time for this!
There is Buddha police that roam the temple and I got told off by them! I mean really, screaming at us on there mega phones from 3 levels down!
Got to the top and there was big bell looking things. Had a picture with the Buddha police and there was a dwarf at the top offering massages!
Met Karen and Ozzy who were from Turkey on holiday, they were really nice! They are the kind of holiday makers we like, seeing all of the sights, staying in nice but basic accommodation and hanging out with locals! They were so funny!
At the bottom of the temple there was so many stalls you had to walk through to get our! Shopping shopping! Didn't buy anything though! Saving all of our shopping for Bangkok!
Went back to Norbert who then drove us to Merapi Volcano. When we got there we couldn't decide if we wanted to go up or not as it was Alex who wanted to come! Tried a fruit called Salak which you can only get in Indonesia, it has snake skin peel and it hard like the texture of a nut, same size and shape as a lemon. It was horrible!
Bumped into Karen and Ozzy again as decided it was fate so we hired a Jeep and driver! 7 or us crammed into the Jeep with a 13 year old driving! He was the best driver any of us had ever seen though!
We stopped at 6 different viewing points which the driver had to pay to stop at. Stopped at a scenic place and there was a boulder that looks like an alien and it really does!!
We couldn't go all the way to the top in the jeep and we were old no one does!
The safari jeep cost 250000 Rupiah (£16) to rent so £2.50 isn't bad! Me and Alex shared the front seat as I think we had one to many people but they just crammed everyone on! We were all clinging on for life as we turned the corners!
Tipped the driver, which isn't usually like us but you only live once!! Our driver drove us to the beach, it was supposed to have black sand and that was the only reason we wanted to go but it didn't!
Had noodle soup at a beach front restaurant and a moped with two metal boxes on the back drove past. Andi clapped his hands once, the guy stopped and set up his restaurant to start making it Cendol! You get this everywhere here, if you can get it on a moped, you can sell it!
Walked along the beach at sun set, it was so romantic an it's times like this I wish I travelled with a boyfriend! Perfect! But no it's me and three gays with it just about good enough!
I have many storage issues in my life, our phones constantly say memory full and we have to upload albums to Facebook to delete some and will have to copy them to my computer when home.
Slept in the taxi in the way home, we were supposed to hire the driver or 10 hours but it worked out to be 12! Got back, got ready then went out to shop! Shopping in Jogjakarta is known for being good!
All the T-shirts are £1 and everything else is just so cheap! They sell lots of batik here. They stalls sell everything you could we want!
Went to a food stall where we sat on the floor around a table and tried crab! We have never eaten proper crab before and someone my prince charming will take me on a date to eat crab and it will be all over my face an I will have taken his eye out with a flying claw! So we got Andi to teach us!
Walked to the bus station to find out what time the trains were for the next day! We decided we would leave early as we wanted as much time as possibly in Andi's home town! The train is at 8.05! Went home, packed and fell straight to sleep at 12.
