Put another snag on the barbie mate!
We left Sydney and headed out West for 5 hours to Lukes place (Lauras Boyfriend) in Temora. Its amazing how the landscape changes leaving Sydney it got quite hill and lots of bushland and then the futhur out we went the flatter and dryer the land got. It was beautiful in Temora (which was voted the friendlist town in the state this year!) At Lukes house you could see for miles and miles and it was really gorgeous, so flat. The roads were dirt tracks which I thought was so cool driving along with all that dust flying out behind, it was like being in a movie! They live in a beautiful spot and the house is so cool, there is a porper outback dunny and everything! We went to Lukes mates 21st, a poper Oz party in the barn, like we have at home but Oz Stylee!!! was so much fun!The next day we went swimmin gat Lukes friends house, Dan, which was really good, nice to cool off as it gets pretty out out here! The following day we headed to Laura's House. Was really cool to meet Lukes family and friends and they were all so good to have me, really lovely ppl! :)
Laura lives in Koorawatha in between Cowra and Young, 2hours North of Temora. Again such different countryside and so beautiful! It is much more hilly at Lauras, more dirt tracks for roads tho! yay! :) It doesnt feel quite as dry here but I guess cos there are more bushland around here it is a bit more green. He house is gorgous, It all so different to home and everyone keeps saying how it must be so much greener at home, which it is but I love sseing the different conditions and to me it looks gorgeous. Lauras family are fab, they are so kind and it feels like a home away from home almost :) We went and saw Lauras Grandma and Pops house which was lovely, I had another Huntsman experiance! I was sat on the sofa and Lauras Grandma pointed out there was on eon the opposite wall!!!! I absolutly frooze and couldnt move for ages, then eventually i felt ok until it moved!!!!I havent jumped so much in a long time! argh! Then we drove past a place called Iandra Castle.
Today Laura, her mum and I went into Cowra. We had lunch in a funky cafe called The Naked Lady. Then we went to see the Japanese Gardens which were so pretty and there was a really cool japanese style house with the best shower room, it was like a huge wet room! anyway! lol! Also went to see the Cowra P.O.W campsite where there was a massive breakout in 1944 (i think) when the Japanese believed they didnt deserve to be kept prisoner and they should die so they broke out an dthose that didnt get killed when and killed themselves in the neighbouring town/villages, it was so eerie and really moving being there, so sad, we also went to the war cemetry.
Itsn now 25th nov! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! have a fab day! Two days ago we went to Canberra, we to the war memorial there and up Telstra Tower where you could see for ages, really cool! Then we drove around the city, went to the Lake which was really pretty and to Parliment House etc. Canberra is so green loads n loads of trees n doesnt feel like a city at all. There is a fair bit to do there but it was freezing n we felt like we were in England! lol! Then yesterday we had a day on the farm, drove round with Lauzys dad and he showed us all the different things they do here, was so interesting, i took a load of pics for u dad. They had things like a solar pannel to pump the well where all the water comes from. And he was telling me about how even tho its really dry here the water table in the land is rising and the salty water is killing off the vegetation so they have to plant grasses that stand the salt. He also showed me rocks that he found on the farm that aboriginals had used and carved them to make pocket knives and hunting materials etc. It was so intresting, and really cool to see all the different ways of doing things over here. Lauz and I also went for a picnic which was fun apart from the huge amount of flys but it didnt matter! Im in austalia!!!! hehe!
