Put another snag on the barbie mate!
Hi all!
So I have just reurned from visiting Jess in Adelaide! I really liked it there, it is quite a small city so it doesnt feel to crowded and there is so many different types of countryside, the beach, the city and the hills!
When I flew over from Sydney it was so cool to see the land change beneath me! We flew over the blue mountains which looked like a huge piece of chocolate coloured paper crumpled up and then let go, like a silky bumpy landscape! And it went on for ages! Then the land became pretty baron and looked to be mainly arm land with tracks and roads that went in a straight line for miles and miles! Then as we got closer to Adelaide it became greener and there were loads and loads of vineyards!
Jess lives in a gorgeous house just outside the centre, it doesnt even feel like you are in a city when you are at her house, its so peaceful. I arrived pretty early in the morning so we went and got some brekkie and then headed to the beach! yay! Was really nice and the water just right! Althought whilst I was in there one of her friends told me he had seen a shark circulring in the water at then end of the jetty a week ago argh! ah well didnt go too deep! :S
That night we went to a house party and I got to meet some more friends!Pretty much just had a crazy night of dancing n playing darts n pool etc! Having got to bed very late that night we decided a day of shoppping was what we needed so we headed to Rundel Street and the Mall there which is the main shopping area! Did some tourist things like sit on the pigs and went up the glass elevator in the Renaisance Tower, that was really cool, you could see all over the city and we had to go up more than once but got the giggles so everyone thugh we were slightly odd but had a great time so who cares, made ppl smile! hehe! :) I was also introduced to an ice cream parlour called Cold Rock! Its amazing! you can choose any ice cream and any sweets you want in it and they will make it for you! Kind of like shakeaways at home! yummy! needless to say I had peanut butter and various chocolate in mine!!!! yum!! :)
The next day, we went to Victor Harbour and Granite Island which was beautiful! Very windy which resulted ia few Marilyn moments for me in my skirt :S but it was so pretty and untouched on the Island. The town was really cute and sea sidey but pretty sleepy on the day we went.Reminded me a little of Domburgh (think I spelt that right) the seaside town I went to with Will and Maart and Ali and Barbara a couple of summers ago, really nice area! There was a wooden walkway connecting the mainland to the Island which we walked over and then got a horse pulled tram on the way back! :)
On the way back to Adelaide we stopped and a winery called Rosemount Estate. It is in the Mclaren Vale which is south of Adelaide, the other direction to the Borossa Valley. Stunning scenery! They taught us how to taste it properly which was fun and then they gave me the bottle of merlot I liked beacuse it was just opened and they were gonna throw it out! That night we went out to a place called the Edinburgh with some more of Jess's friends!
On the last day we managed to get in some more shopping before we said goodbye :( Adelaide is a really pretty and friendly place and Im definatly glad I got to go! Every part of Oz I go to is so different! Its amazing how theis country differs so much from state to state!
