Battambang
Many people we've spoke to haven't even heard of this city let alone travelled it. So seeing as it's the second biggest in Cambodia we thought we'd spend a few days there. It took 4 hours by bus again. There wasn't really much to do by day or night around the city centre which sounds mad. But we went on 2 little trips, one was to the bamboo train & the other to the killing cave & bat cave. The bamboo train was awesome! It took us across about 3 miles of country side. We couldn't believe how fast it was, like being on a roller coaster at times without the safety. The killing caves is where victims were smashed on the head then tossed into the caves. This was another killing site of the Khmer Rouge. Afterwards to lighten moods we were taken to the other side of the mountain by our favourite tuk tuk driver (DJ) who had a secret spot only him and his mate knew. We watched the sunset and wait for the bats to leave the cave. At 6.05pm millions of bats flew out of this cave. It was unbelievable to sit and watch, even if they did smell of s***. We've met some cool people here who we will hopefully meet up with again along the way. Tomorrow we leave for a 12 hour bus journey down to Sihanoukville where we can see the sea again!!! Just for a few days before hopping over to backpackers paradise! Koh Rong!
