Hey kids,
We arrived in Singapore...all i can say is WOW...what an amazing city!! Although we didnt think that when we were just dumped in the middle of nowhere with no money! But hey as usual we survived...we walked to the neares thotel and asked him to show us where we were...his English wasn't great and kept telling us to use his internet...he wasn't quite understanding the concept that we actually didnt even have a dollar between us!! So eventually he called us a taxi..where the first stop was a cash point! The the cab driver suggested a hotel and took us to it!! It was a bit expensive but as it was getting late, we were all tired and hungry we thought sod it will pay it and then go straight out and look for accommodation.
So we dumped our bags and off we went. Found another nice hotel just round the corner ...after most places being either full or mixed dorms (no thanks .....i dont want to sleep in a room full of blokes burping and farting) Lol.So that evening we decided to go to Swensens for dinner then back to in our rooms and read our books/watch a film on our ipods.
The next morning we got up and moved to the Beach Hotel...were we felt like we were at home!! The people couldn't do enought for us!! It was great! Today we explored the Botanicle Gardens and walked down Orchard road (a world famous street for shopping). In the evening i met up with my friend Ali who lives in Singapore for a few drinks in Clarke Quay. We met Ali in the clinic bar...this place was awesome....its wheel chairs for your seat, hospital beds and tables for your table and the drinks are served in a drip. Great place to experience....totally crazy! Random people kept walking past and taking photos of us drinking from our drip..sitting in wheel chairs. Then Ali turned us and took us to a few other bars in the area. Great evening! Very expensive night though...you couldnt get drunk...!!
Today is the day we went to TOAST BOX for breakfast...god this place was amazing! The thickest toast you have ever seen (i have pics that ive put on here)...after a hearty breakfast we headed to Sentosa Island...did a couple of 4D shows, the pink Dolphin show which was truely amazing and underwater world!!
In the evening we headed to the world famous hotel Raffles.......OMG what a place!! Anyone want to take me there even just for one night....was thinking about just chatting up a random in the hotel...but didn't think mum would approve Lol...only kidding Wick's. lol. So anyway we sat down and ordered the Singapore slings...they went down a bit too easily and being $25 it was going to be expensive...but hey we're flash packers so we ordered another. Being Tara's last night it would have been rude to only have one! After here we headed to Dempsy Hill where Ali recommended a restaurant called P.S Cafe..........I had a special steak...the thing cost me £34 ...ouch..but it was good!!! We ended the evening with a couple of nice desserts and then home to bed!!
The next day we chilled went to the internet cafe to try and download pictures but it was rubbish so then jumped in a cab and headed to orchard road again where we paid M&S a visit for some comfort food...biscuits and crisps. After some lunch and shopping we went back..Tara packed and Vikki and I headed off to the Night Safari...Wow what an experience...to see those huge animals hunting at night!! We saw Lions, tigers, Leopards, elephants, Giraffes, rinos etc etc. Then we went into an animal night show...that was interesting to say the least....i was constantly sitting on the edge of my seat as things were running round your feet, on ropes above your head...i came out of there a nervous wreck!! Lol! Then to finish the day off we had a fish foot spa...these little fish nibble at your dead skin...god it tickles. We got back home...packed our bags, checked the net and got to bed ready for our Oz flight early the next day!!
Well another city completed ...this place had to be my favourite so far at this point! So clean so safe and everyone just willing to go out of there way to help you!!
