Up at 8.30 today, but with aim to have leisurely morning. At 9.40. Headed down to Thapae Gate area to find breakfast, and settled on Blueberry pancakes, yum. After a leisurely breakfast, decided that couldn't leave ChiangMai without having had a Thai massage. I settled upon an establishment by the name of Sabae De Ka, just off Moon Mueang Road, by the name of Sabae De Ka, having read comments on Tripadvisor.com. I settled upon a head, neck, shoulder and back massage for 1 hour for 200bht. Having never experienced a Thai massage before, I was naively expecting a relaxing affair, but was pummled, pushed and pulled from all angles, which, as I am in nature very tense, hurt like hell. After an hour of this, I rose feeling surprisingly relaxed. I then headed back to Thapae Gardens Guesthouse for a short pit-stop before heading out in the opposite direction over the Ping river to view Wat Gate Karam which housed a museum of Old Chiang Mai memorabilia, and Wat Chetupon, which were a fair hike away, but I stopped en route at The Riverside bar for spring rolls on the way, and on the way back at Chez 15 for an iced mocha. I arrived back at the guesthouse at 6.00 for a shower and change, then headed out to Warorwot market, (which is in the same direction as The Night Market), and comprises of many stalls selling clothes and the like as well as local food delicacies, from which I chose for my dinner. At the top of the road lies the flower market, which has beautiful wreathes and flowers picked earlier in the day.
