Anna's Escapades.
Woke up at 7.30, then dozed till 8.00 when I finally got up and showered. Breakfast at 8.30, and out by 9.00, ready to do some more exploring. My first stop was San Jeronimo School. This was founded in 1739 by the order of La Merced, who argued to the authorities that since the Dominicans and Fransiscans had their own schools, that they should too. After only 2 years, the authorities ordered for it to be closed as no permit had been granted by the crown. The king also ordered it to be demolished, however this was rescinded and it was turned into a customs house.
From there I made my way to La Merced, which was built in 1779, and is one of the few churches which survived the earthquakes.
