Arrived in to Guatemala City airport at 10.00pm, and having quickly gathered my case after clearing customs, I made a beeline for the taxis, and having bartered the driver down to $25, hopped in and drove the 40 minutes to Antigua where I was going to be based for the following 4 days. I had gathered from a number of sources that Guatemala city is known to be one of the most dangerous cities in the world, so you can understand why I didn't want to hang around for too long.
