Hello Again. Bet you all have left work now. It is 4;5pm here (we are just 2 hours behind). Sitting the computer as it has been raining all day!!! Still very hot though. Wednesday evening I just checked out the local sites with a guy from the hostel. Really nice litle chinise guy but a little boring. He is from Canada so he didn't get any of my jokes. He did show me a little cafe where we got dinner and a beer for three pounds - bargin!! Had a early night after that. I was a little scared in my room on my own. But so tired that I went out like a light. Thursday morning I got up and decided to make friends so went down to breakfast and sat next to a group of girls (it was like my first day at school). Can I be friends with you?? haha They were going up to the Sugar Loaf Mountain so I invited myself along. Before I left the hostel asked me to move rooms. This is good as I'm now in with 2 other girls and they are really nice. The only thing is that I'm on top bunk! It is about 7ft high. I was so worried about rolling off in the night (especially after a few beers)! Got the Bus to Urca, and then took a cable car to Morro da Rio. Great views. We then took a 2nd cable car to the Sugur Loaf (Pao de Acucar). You can see the whole of Rio from high. I'll try and up load some pictures soon. We could see the Corcovado (hunchback) mountain that has the Cristo Redentar (christ the redeemer) at the top. We could hardly see Christ though as clouds were around. Rio has lots of clouds!! After that Emily, Sarah (my new friends! This is a different sarah to the girl I met on the plane), and I went to the Beach. Oh it was nice. Apparently I feel asleep, Sarah said I was snoring!! I never snore. haha Once I got back to my room I got chatting to my room buddie Gayle and she is now coming out to dinner with us, along with her 2 mates, Les and Pete. There is now a nice size crowd! Anyway, the 6 of us when out for dinner. Everyone following me as I'm showing them the place I ate on Wednesday. First of all we had loads of kids run up to us begging for money and then we got stopped by police!!!! By this point everyone is thinking where the hell has Anna taken us. The police were horrible and scarey. They searched Les and Pete for ages. At one point they took them other to the car, we thought they were gonners. After ten minutes or so they let them go. We we got to the cafe we were all a bit shock up to enjoy the food. After that we went to a pub, an IRISH pub!!! haha When you are in Rio there is no point going to the Brazilian places!! After about 3 beers and 1 local cocktail I felt boozed! Got back to the hostel and feel asleep on my bed with my ipod on. Woke up in the middle of the night with everything everywhere. Didn't move though, too scared incase I fall down! This morning woke up in about 10 litres of sweat. It was soo hot. It is RAINING today. Oh and it hasn't stoped. But I am sure I am still catching a sun tan in the rain! The girls and I went for a walk in our rain mac's up to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (big lagoon/lake). Lovely place, probably very pretty on a sunny day. We didn't stay too long because a tramp would not leave sarah alone and she got a bit scared. Some of the places here are very dodgy. We are had a walk along to the Ipanema Beach to the point where it meets Copacabana (Arpoador). There were loads of surfers down there so we checked out there skills in the water, which turned out to be not that good, maybe it was because it was raining? Been chilling in room for a bit. Going out tonight and tomorrow will be a big day as we are going to the football at the Maracana Stadium. It is a big local game. About 70 people from the hostel are going and also my Plane friend is meeting us here in the morning. I am really enjoying myself, all those who has been getting text messages and emails saying that I'm home sick, ignore me. I am very home sick but hopefully each day it will become easier. It is just that year is such a long time away and I'm missing you all already. I'm trying to email everyone back, sorry if it has taken a while. If it rains again tomorrow I will catch up. My mate Sandy gets out here early hours sunday morning so we will be partying at the carnival starting from sunday. (sorry about the grammer and spelling) Love to you all. Take Care Anna xxxx
