Monday: Got to Mendoza this morning. Got to a nice hostel (Andino Hostel), it had only been open 2 months so still really clean, and it has a pool in the garden. Made friends with some guys from Cornwall (Jack and Jill (sorry, I mean James), a American and a Ozzy girl, Kate). We checked out the park and town and then Kate and I went on a Wine Tasting Tours. Saw the Vine Yards, Carinae and Bodegas Lopez, tasted some wine. Saw where they grow Olives. And then saw how they make Olive Oil and how they make the wine. Nice afternoon. Shame they didn`t give us enough wine though. Only got 4 half glasses! We were all expecting more (not just me). Tuesday: Went for a hike through the park and up a mountain (Rutas Sammartinianos Cerros de la Gloria) with Kate and the boys. We even took a picnic which we ate at the top (this was the boys idea! How sweet!). Saw the Monumento de Ejercito de Los Andes at the top. Really nice day and great views. Think I should have put more sun cream on as I now have a rather red nose! Wednesday: Went Water Rafting at Aforadora - Codo del Diablo. Up early for the bus to pick us up at 8.30am. The ride there was really nice. Went though lots of mountains. Saw the Andes with lots of snow on them. Really weird seeing snow as it was so hot down here. Rafting was good, had to wear a rather sexy outfit though (see pictures). The river was rather calm as there had not been much rain lately. It was rough enough for me as it was only my first time. I still managed to scream like a little girl whenever we got to a rough bit. I managed to stay in the boat which was good. Afterwards we just chilled out around the lake, really pretty round here. In the evening got went to bus station to get the bus to Bariloche. Was rather glad to say goodbye to Ozzy girl as she was so stuck up her own arse. Has to be the first person I have not liked. I did not give her my email address and I really hope that I do not bump into her again. But knowing my luck she will be at every hostel I go to.
