Anna's travels......
Couldn't get to sleep this morning. By the time with got back from the club the hostel was too noisy, hot and light to sleep. Had about and an hours sleep and then got up.
Went and brought some Boco Football Shirts with Emma, the Irish girl. We are sitting with Locals so we have to look the part. The lonley planet book says "Do not sit behind the goal with the locals, as too dangerous", so what do we do, we buy tickets for that part. Well, they were the cheapest there. Ar $10 (2 pounds).
Got to Boca and there were lots of fans, lots of police too. All looked under control. Walking into the stadium seem quiet scary as there was so much noise, felt like we were walking into a big fight. But once we got there and squeezed into the standing area, it was fine. The fans were very passionate about the their team but no one was pushy or aggressive.
Oh, and guess who was there also watching, Diego Maradona! Couldn't see him but could see where he was sitting and the fans sang him some song. They all think he is a king here. But hey, we know better! He used to play for Boca Juniors, in his hey day, before he got so fat.
After the football, walking back to the bus stop, I only spotted Rogericko! Only 50,000 people about and I see him. (the guy who used to organise the events at our hostel in Rio). He is back working in Arg. He was really sweet and let us 8 get the bus back with his group. His group (other backpackers) paid Ar $70 for the trip! We had great pleasure telling them that we only paid ten, and were getting their bus back for free! They offer the trip as "football match, beer, transport and security"!!! These tour guides just make it seem scary to rip the tourist off.
Got to bed about 10pm and god was I pleased to go to bed tonight. It been one of those long, hangover, tired days, but fun of course!
