Hey everyone! I haven't posted anything for a while as we have been travelling a lot and haven't had a chance to get to the internet - I have so much to say!
Well here goes:
Wellington
We got into Wellington on 12th February, it was raining and miserable - not very happy as this is the first rain we have had really - well apart from a few drizzly spots! We decided to go out for the evening and have a few drinkies, well a few drinkies turned into a lot of drinkies! We headed to the hostel bar and met up with people of the bus and took full advantage of happy hour! We then boogied on down for the rest of the night and the wee hours of the morning. We all had a great night and it was a fantastic start to our time in Wellington.
The next morning we went to the museum there. The museum was huge and was free - so that was even better. We spent a long time in there as there were 6 floors. They had a colossal squid in there, which was humungous. We all really enjoyed our day in the museum.
On Saturday, the others went on another Lord of the Rings trip, I again opted out and went shopping instead. When they returned we met up with Robs friend, who lives in Wellington, for a while and he took us on a mini tour of the city. Naomi left us and went off to visit her family who live in Masterton which is an hour away from the city. She left us for a few days and had an amazing time as she has only seen them once before. In the evening me and Anita went out to meet her friend who lives there - we just had a wander and a drinkie!
On the Sunday, me and Anita went up the cable car. We had a fantastic day, we had lunch at the Botanical gardens and had a wander through. We found a brass band which was playing and welistened to them and soaked up the sun. Before we came down on the cable car we went into the cable car museum, which was very interesting. In the evening we all went to the cinema to see Benjamin Button. It was such a good film.
On our last day we went to the zoo. It was a bit drizzly but we kitted ourselves up in our rain macs. We had a great day at the zoo. My favourite part of the zoo were the signs, will have to add photos of them so you can all see them! How old am I? No wonder everyone who we meet thinks we are a lot younger than we are! In the evening , we meet Anita's friend again and he took us to a Mexican restaurant which was fantastic. We all ate a lot and drunk a few too many margaritas!
Well, that was our time in Wellington and our next stop was Nelson in the south island. Will now add another post.
