Frankfurt. Our last day of our journey and this city is underwhelming. It lacks the charm of the other wonderful places we have been. Most advertised tours take you out of the city ( one of them to the Black Forest!). In hindsight, we should have stayed in Forest one day longer and just driven straight to the airport . Not to worry, we know for next time. It's a bit sad that this will be my last blog from the continent . Next stop..... Sydney via a 3 hour stopo...

We like it here, nice walking tracks, thermal pools, good schnitzels, great cakes and bread. It's all coming to an end very soon. Tomorrow we are off to Frankfurt to prepare for the long haul home. Hopefully we will find a shopping centre close by to burn the few euros we have left. Byebye Bad Herrenalb , it's been relaxing and fun!

We have settled into a lovely town in the Black Forest for a few days before heading to Frankfurt to fly home on Wednesday. We didn't realize when we booked, but the town has thermal springs, so there are more zimmers and wheelchairs than Mowl village! What a lovely old town. We saw it on foot and loved it's character. The food was good too! A continuing theme, driving in and out of the city gave us some tense moments. Too much happening on these roads; trams and cyclists (no helmets) everywhere. The highlight would have been when I ran a red (it was orange when I left, I swear!) and almost got t-boned by a tram. Lyon is a charming city with cobblestones streets leading up the steep hill to beautiful Notre Dame cathedral. The internal roof was beautiful , with gold encrusted artwork. We saw the city by bike, which was a good way to cover alot of ground in a few hours. The bikes were electric, so getting up the very steep hill was a breeze .
