We have settled into a lovely town in the Black Forest for a few days before heading to Frankfurt to fly home on Wednesday.
We didn't realize when we booked, but the town has thermal springs, so there are more zimmers and wheelchairs than Mowl village! We are hoping that the springs are like the movie "Cocoon" where they are they key to eternal youth. So far, not the case as we've had a face to face encounter with a saggy old German lady walking in and out if the sauna in the nuddy. Not good.
We are pub hopping whilst we are here, and I'm rating schnitzels and local beers as we go. I like it here, even if it's a bit cool (Jenny it's less than 19'C here, booo!).
They love the churchbells here, and it's Sunday so they're going NUTS! They're almost guilting me into going to church. Almost.
I'm looking forward to 3pm Kafe and Kuchen, and today I will try the local specialty of Black Forest cake (even though I've never really liked it). I'm doing my best to try the local speciallties in mist places we have been. Al, the fruit tart was good in Basel but the traditional super thin crusted pizza ( sour cream , bacon and onion) was even better!
