Finally arrived! I’ve been up about 36 hours and am very ready for sleep. I had tried to arrange for an airport transfer to my hotel and a late 1am check in, but never heard from the hotel despite several messages left! I checked my messages on arrival and had an email from the website I booked through that my hotel booking had been cancelled! What!?!? It all worked out though; got hustled at the airport by the guy who “set me up with a taxi”, then drove for about 40 minutes without a clue where we were going with a driver who only spoke French. I was aware that they charge double fare late at night so when he asked for twice what it should have been, at least I was prepared. Thankfully the currency exchange was the only thing open in the Casablanca airport, so I had been able to get some currency. I discovered earlier today you cannot get Moroccan Dirham outside of Morocco, so I only had Euro on arrival (and a handful of Loonies!
