Today we got up early and caught the train from Casablanca to Rabat. It was a pretty short journey to the nation’s capital and home of the King. Rabat is very different from Casablanca-it’s very clean, well laid out and lots of modern buildings. Green spaces and parks were quite abundant as well. We ordered some lunch at a restaurant that kindly agreed to store our luggage and then went off to explore for a few hours before meeting back there for lunch. Our guide, Abdou, had given us maps and directions of a nice walk that would take us to the Kasbah. We set off in a few groups and the one I was with took a wrong turn somewhere and we finally reached the Kasbah with only about 45 minutes to go before we were to meet for lunch. So a quick walk around was all we had time for before heading back. We finally managed to snag a few taxis and made it back for lunch. After lunch was another train ride to Meknès. We didn’t see anything in Meknès but caught taxis instead to the small town of Moulay Idriss.
