24/10/2011 Hi to all. We were up at 4am our time to get to Angkor Wat in time for the sunrise and you can't imagine how worth it it was - just beautiful. We have spent today exploring three temples, Angkor Wat, Ta Prom, where some scenes from Tomb Raider were filmed, and Bayon. We have been out as a group tonight to watch a traditional Cambodian dance show and visited the night markets. A day travelling tomorrow to Phnom Penh so probably wont have much to update...

After an early start we set off in a private mini bus to Cambodia. Pok has lots of information to share along the way, everything from some background history, useful phrases and handy hints. We stop for lunch and then continue on to Siem Reap. The recent floods have impacted greatly on the people in Cambodia. The rice fields have large amounts of water in them and local people can be seen in small boats, paddling around with fishing nets, and children also swim...

So today we had the morning around the pool and once the sun had disappeared over the hotel we decided to get the underground to Lumphini. We wandered in the direction that we believed to be heading towards the park, but after a while we had a coffee at the post office and finished writing our postcards to Mum and Dad, and to Ross. We tried to byt stamps but the man took our postcards and I think was trying to say he would attach a stamp to each and post?!! I gue...

We would like to thank all our family, friends and colleagues for the kind gifts and well wishes, we have both been truly spoilt with appropriate gifts for our travels. Last minute.com as per normal we have had a busy day doing the things we probably should have done weeks ago, but hey it wouldn't be us if we had done all our packing and organising before we actually needed to leave the house would it! You will all no doubt be REALLY shocked to know Nik made it...
