Club Iguanas

After waking up at about 1 o'clock we spent the day spent the day chilling and sorting some stuff out on the internet before heading off to the second pre party at a club called Iguanas. The party was held upstairs in a nice bar with two smallish dance floors. The floors themselves were very nice and we were treated to another live band call Group Latin Vibe who although they played their own songs were less enjoyable than the band of the previous night. After a few dances we were both drenched with sweat as the club was roasting and despite the two dance floors it was so crowded you hardly had room to dance. However we both had a few good dances and were thoroughly enjoying our night, even though everyone was wearing white as they had changed the theme of the night without updating the website to let anyone outside New York know about it. After the band had finished playing they announced that it was time for the shows to start. This is when the evening started going downhill. Firstly they decided to hold the performances on the narrow dance floor so that only the first 2 rows of people could see. (No one at the front had the common sense to sit down) Added to this they didn't have the fore thought to clear the band away first so they had to attempt to carry their instruments through the packed crowd. We gave up at this point and decided it would be much more interesting to watch the performers practising on the other floor rather than the back of peoples heads. After a little more dancing we went outside to get some drinks as the bar was charging $5 for a bottle of water. We left about 2:30 and went home for some rest ready for the congress to start the next evening.
