Well, after 12hrs in the air of which was probably the best economy flight we have ever taken (and we've done a lot now) we touched down at LAX at 19:30. It was a long day, made longer by the fact that we were the first people to check in for the flight at 11:30 but we weren't keen, honest! But as we said the flight itself was brilliant especially as seats on Air New Zealand weren't designed around everyone being 3ft tall so we could at least stretch our legs a bit, and even better that the seat next to us was empty so no asking people to move for 12hrs!
First clue we were in LA again was the warm air coming in from outside, followed straight away by spotting our first celeb!!! TOM CRUISE.......no sorry, Dermot O'Leary was just in front of us in the immigration queue but no pics sorry as your not allowed in that area, but still it was fun!
Picked up our rental car, a DB9......OK kidding again, its a Chevy something ugly with blacked out windows and the worlds lowest roof! SERIOUSLY, Andy keeps hitting is head on it! But it does its job and it got us to our hotel fine where we crashed out until the morning.
First day we decided to take it easy, so spent the day at Disneyland hiking round the park! One good thing about Disney which we found in Florida is they are very good at dealing with people like Emma who need a special diet. We went to Guest Relations when we got into the park and told them Emma was a Celiac and WHAM they gave us a 5 page booklet of items she could eat in the park! So, 30 mins later Emma was eating a gluten free burger and bun :)
Did the usual Disney stuff of meeting the characters and hitting the rides like Space Mountain, but the park was heaving for some reason!
Left the park early and headed to PF Changs China Bistro for dinner because they have a brilliant Gluten Free Menu before we headed back to Disney to watch evening Parade in the park. Not as good as the ones in Orlando but still worth a watch.
Next Day, Six Flags Magic Mountain........Emma is giddy with excitement, Andy is thinking of excuses to not go on the rides.....
Bye!
