Alan and I cycled to Tours this morning to meet Jon and David from their gentle 25 hour journey. They reluctantly left the train to add two more day glo cycling jackets to the beautiful Loire region. After a typical baguette and cake lunch we mooched (walking not cycling) Tours, a city that resembles a building site. We are all looking forward to the next four days of cycling, eating, exploration and ear chewing. AB
The grandparents have arrived at last. They are tired after their journey which is understandable at their age. The conversation has switched from miles per hour and tour data to thermal underpants and enhanced pensions. The 4 of us decided to go for a swim after their afternoon nap but it was too cold for their chicken like limbs . Maybe tomorrow after a big lie down. Looking forward to the cake fest to follow. APL
Journey went like clockwork going down to meet the A team. Great to see them waiting like parents waiting for their offspring to arrive from uni. Clearly they were pleased to meet others who can speak English! DH
We have arrived and the sun is shining. No sign of any rain here. In fact all this talk of adverse weather by our 'children' has led us to believe they have been telling a few porkies - David and i have a theory that really A&A have been sunning themselves on the beach at Perpignan and got the train to Tours yesterday, 'staging' the whole ride with some clever photoshop editing of photos! Ha ha! Looking forward to some good cycling over the next few days. JS
