We finished last night and started this morning poorly and finished today in great style. In our hotel in dull town last night we could find no eatery open and the hotel bar closed at 10.00, things were so bad we finished our beers in our hotel bedroom. But we did eat as Alan had lots of food in his tardis-like panniers. There were violent storms in the night, a negative change in the weather. We spurned the hotel breakfast for a McDonalds (normally against my religion but Alan is persuasive) but this was dull town and it wasn't open. We therefore eat a damp supermarket breakfast in the classiest car park in dull town, a poor start to the day.
Things picked up massively as we took a great cycle path along the Midi Canal, a canal that spans two oceans. With the weather brightening, lunch in Toulouse and 70 miles of progress made things were looking good. Storm clouds gathered however as we looked for an overnight stop and before the inevitable deluge we found a great hotel, an historic building in lovely colonial style. We are off now for our evening grub, lets hope we do better than Alan's leftovers, albeit that he always has a ready supply. AB
How can I top Shakespeare AB blog above. One pizza parlour open in Dulltown II . At least Andy satisfied his beerlust with a bottle of Desperados beer. Very appropriate! Stormy weather forecast for next few days. Must find Laundrette soon to dissuade the fly swarm following our trail. AB reluctant to eat McD. But he is weak and the Big Mac will consume him before we reach the Loire. Oh yes!! APL
