With three nights accomodation confirmed at the largest hotel in the world, the first world hotel with its 6118 rooms in this Las Vegas style resort we were looking forward to loads of fun.
Within two hours driving time from Kuala Lumpur this resort with its good value rooms at only 20 pounds a night and with breakfeast included we couldn't go wrong.
The 1st day we spent exploring and getting lost amongs the 10's of thousands of people who turn up everyday. The resort comprises of five main hotels, both indoor and outdoor theme parks, loads of casinos (the only ones in Malaysia), a snow dome, cinemas, 10 pin bowling and tons of video games machines.
On day 2 we did a couple of the indoor rides including the first flying coaster in asia and a 4d movie. We had loads of rest time and lots of starbucks coffee to get ready for the big theme park day the next morning.
We since however have learnt never never leave going to the parks to the last day, as it rained and then rained some more. So much so the parks had to be closed and we missed out. However the experience of going somewhere so large was fun and gave Andy B a taste of Las Vegas - Malaysian Style.
All however was not so plain sailing as you may think. Try feeding over 12000 people in 1 restaurant each morning for breakfeast. It was like feeding time at the zoo and with some table manners we saw I think thats where most of the people came from.
To reach the Genting Resort it was an eleven minuite ride in a cable car which was so high and wobbly you would've been forgiven for thinking we weren't going to make it in one piece. Getting in an out whilst the thing was moving caused a few swear words as we dragged out bags out before we got pulled over the edge.
Next stop cream teas and a lesson in how to make a proper cup of tea in the Cameron Highlands. Till next time..... Love from us both.
